Teething....

Friday morning KaeLynn woke up at 5a.m (which is not normal for her) in the worst mood ever. She was just screaming and it seemed that nothing would make her happy. All we could do was swaddle her up real tight in a blanket and hold her. So Cavan held her in the dark all swaddled up and rocked her back to sleep. But then she would not sleep longer than 40 mins! I thought she has to be teething because she had a runny nose and a cough. Friday was the worst day ever. She didn't want to eat, she didn't want to be held, nothing made her happy! All I could do was wrap her up in a blanket and put her in her vibrating bouncer chair. We did drive to Vancouver to visit my mom and step dad and we went for a walk at Lackamas lake and as long as KaeLynn was wrapped in her blanket she seemed to enjoy the walk. Thank goodness because I needed to get out of the house. Then Saturday came and we had already planned to drive up to Astoria to visit my family. She was better than she was on Friday but still had a few screaming spells that we could not get her out of. My family was very understanding but I was still overwhelmed and thought it was so ironic that this would be the weekend she was going to teeth! My dad was so good with her and still wanted to hold her and cuddle her even if she was screaming. It was so cute! She is now back to her cute self and we could not be happier to have her back!

Music to my ears

I have been wanting a piano for a long time now but obviously don't know how to play or can afford one. Then one day my good friend Joy knew someone who was giving away their piano for FREE! I was so excited I immediately agreed. Cavan was not excited to say the least but at least he was nice enough to get his brother and dad to help us move it. I even have piano lessons set up. My good friend from Young Women's is teaching me in exchange for babysitting. I love it! I just can't wait until I can play well enough to have the family standing around the piano at Christmas time singing carols!

KaeLynn Updates

KaeLynn rolled over yesterday at church! She already has rolled from her stomach to her back but yesterday she finally rolled from her back to her stomach! She did it twice on her own. I tried to get in on video but of course she didn't want to once the camera came out. So instead of a picture of her rolling over I thought a picture of her rollie pollies in the bath would do just fine. She just keeps getting bigger and bigger! There is no stopping her! Tonight we gave her peas and she did really good again. We had the camera ready for any priceless picture moments but she was giving us nothing to work with! She just kept eating it like she has always been eating peas. I did mix them up in her rice cereal so maybe when she gets peas by themselves she will have a bigger reaction. KaeLynn is handling tummy time a lot better then she was. It is still not her favorite but she can definitely tolerate it longer then 5 seconds. Soon she will be crawling and taking over the world! Yikes!

What a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Today was absolutely gorgeous! The sun felt so good as we went out for a walk. It was so sunny it was time to bust out the baby sunglasses for little KaeLynn. She did really well wearing them but her little nose had a hard time keeping them on her face and she got annoyed of me trying to constantly fix them, so not long after they came on I had to take them off her. But I had to snap a photo because words can't express how stinky cute she looked.

A new food to try..

Well we finally did it. I gave KaeLynn her first vegetable to try. I gave her some mashed up carrots in her rice cereal and she surprisingly like it. Except for when she came across some carrots that were not mashed up all the way. Her face was priceless. Mom had a horrible time trying to mash up the carrots. First I steamed them. Then when I put them in the blender to mash them up the carrots would get pushed away as the blade was turned on, so no mashing was getting accomplished. So then I tried mashing them just with a spoon, but that took to long and my arm got very tired (I know boo hoo). So then I had the bright idea to use the beater (bad idea). Carrots flew everywhere!! At least Lexy like it because she got an extra treat and she liked up the mess on the floor. All of this while KaeLynn is patiently waiting in her high chair for me to feed her some dinner. I definitely made a mess, but my sweet Cavan still cleaned up the kitchen although he said "I used every bloody dish in the house". I think I need to buy one of those magic bullets to make my future baby food making a little easier. KaeLynn is 5 months old today and I swear I thought she was going to roll from her back to her stomach. She was getting very close. She is getting good at picking up and holding her toys. She is also chewing on everything! She is definitely teething. At least she has not been as grumpy as she was in the beginning.

New toy!

KaeLynn has found her new joy in life and that is to jump! We noticed she was trying to jump up and down in her saucer so we put her in a jumper and she loves it! She is so cute as she wobbles and jumps! Lexy also loves it because KaeLynn is now Lexy's perfect height and in perfect reach, so Lexy can steal kisses from KaeLynn every now and then. In this picture you can also see that KaeLynn's hair is finally starting to grow more. It is a very slow process but it's there! Still haven't tried vegetables yet. I think KaeLynn is starting to teeth. She has a runny nose and is chewing on everything. She also decided that she doesn't want to take rice cereal unless it is mixed with mom's milk instead of water all of the sudden. So once we battle these two hurtles we will try some vegetables.

Snow Boarding at Last!!

Well I finally did it! Cavan and I got to go snow boarding this last weekend. I was able to go for free since Cavan is a ski host and I got to work with him and wear the cool yellow vest to show everyone that I was "on the job". Wearing the vest is quite embarrassing to wear when it makes you a little more noticeable then everyone else especially when you are rusty as I was and falling all over the place! That's okay I still had fun. I am super sore though! KaeLynn feels unbearable to pick up! LOL! I also got a job! Times have been really tough and our prayers were answered when a job opening came up. I got a job as a dental assistant literally around the corner from my house. From my office window I can see my house! It's only 3 days a week 6 hrs a day. Since it is so close I can feed KaeLynn on my lunch break. Since she isn't taking the bottle it seemed impossible for me to work part time but with this job I can still feed her the same as if I were with her all day. It has definitely been an answer to our prayers!

KaeLynn is growing so quick. I think she is just about ready to try her first vegetable. I will keep you updated with how it goes......
