Hair or no hair

Here is KaeLynn and Daniel at about the same age. Daniel has so much more hair than KaeLynn ever did! How is that fair!? I love how much they look a like and I love having a baby in the house again!

Daniel Boy

Daniel is 5 months and will be 6 months in just a few days. He has taken to rice cereal very well and tonight we gave him some avocado and he did great. He had no reaction, and just kept eating it like it was rice cereal. I was very surprised and was expecting more than that. He still is on a pretty tight feeding schedule of every 3 hrs. Sometimes he will go 3 1/2 -4 hrs, but not all the time. I have tried several times to go to a 4 hr schedule, but it has screwed up his sleeping every time. He is sleeping great at night, and as long as I do not keep him up to long in between naps, he will nap well too. He can only handle about an hour in a half awake. Sometimes he can handle an extra 10 mins, but longer than that and he wont nap very long. He loves KaeLynn and his face really lights up when she comes over to talk to him. He is such a snugly boy and brings us so much joy!

My lovely children keep me so busy that I just want to take the time to appreciate them. Being a mom of two is very hard in ways that you only understand once you have children, especially when you go from having one to two kids. I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed me with these two beautiful and healthy children. When we have good moments, they are so wonderful. Can you feel me leading up to something...? Yes, today was a hard day. I made some chicken soup on Sunday, and in the chicken seasoning I used there was milk in it. I was foolish enough to not look at the ingredients. I only used 1 1/2 Tablespoons of the seasoning. He was a little off yesterday and I was feeling off too so when I thought back to the food we had recently ate, the seasoning was the only thing different then what I usually use. Now when I say he was off, I mean he was still reasonable, but not his total happy self and was spitting up a lot. I thought that maybe we would be okay since it was such a little amount. So I ate it again for left overs today for lunch and WHOA!! He was so fussy today! So gassy, and cried, and cried, and cried!!! I am so glad he seems to be feeling better and is sleeping now in bed for the night. I need a break! Lesson learned to be even more careful then I already am.
On a happy note, I love how KaeLynn and Daniel can "play together". KaeLynn's favorite thing to do with him, is make him a fort while he is laying under his baby jungle gym. He just lays there and chews on a toy while she piles blanket after blanket on the structure. It is such a struggle for her to not put the blankets over his face. I keep telling her that he needs room to breathe, but she says "he needs to hide from the pumas!". She got that from watching Diego. It is fun to see them interact together. It will be great to see them as they grow up.

Eating Solids

My little man is ready for some solid food. My milk supply has fluctuated so much that sometimes he does not get enough to eat. This is hard to believe since he is so chunky! He just had his 4 month well check and he now weighs 16lbs 12.3 ounces. He is 25.5 inches long. KaeLynn also had her check up and she weighs 32 lbs now. It is amazing how fast they grow. I was dreading the shots because every single one with KaeLynn has been horrible and the rest of our day is her being very dramatic. I was worried how Daniel would also do. I had KaeLynn go first and the first shot she just whimpered. The second shot the wailing began and did not go away for the rest of the afternoon and night. She kept saying, "I got hurt!" Daniel thank goodness did great. He had to get 3 shots and didn't cry until the 3rd shot. He cried less then a minute and smiled at the assistant when she left. I was glad that both of my kids were not in complete melt downs. Daniel will have to back in soon since we got behind on his immunizations, but KaeLynn thankfully won't need any more until she is ready for Kindergarten! KaeLynn is having a little bit of a hard time adjusting to Joy School. She has a really hard time when I drop her off. She once had to go to time out because she was dancing and encouraging the other kids to dance instead of participating in singing time! I take no responsibility for her dancing! :) Speaking of dancing I taught my first class of Zumba today at church. It was great and I had 8 people show up! I am so glad to have dance back in my life. Our family has been doing great, and I truly think we are the happiest we have been in a while.

First day of Joy School!

Today was KaeLynn's first day of at home preschool that I doing with some moms from my old ward. It was so nice of them to let us join their group! Two days a week she gets together with some kids and we moms take turns teaching them a curriculum from Joy School. When KaeLynn woke up and I told her today is your first day of school, she jumped out of bed and ran out of her room saying, "I'm all grown up! I get to go to school!" Oh bitter sweet day that she is getting older, but oh so happy to have some structured learning in her day.

He Is Rolling!

Yesterday morning after I fed Daniel I laid him on the floor to hang out while I went to the kitchen to cook breakfast. A few minutes later I peeked in to check on him and he was on his stomach! He rolled over and I missed it! Later that day he rolled over again for Cavan and me so I felt better. The last couple of days he has so been so cute and vocal with happy coos! Today he kept rolling over unto his stomach and then crying about it, so I would put him on his back. Then he would go right back to his stomach and then cry! It was so funny.

As 2011 Comes to an End

December was a crazy month that went by way to fast! Daniel has changed so much! Ever since I totally went off of dairy, he has become such a happy baby! On Christmas day even started laughing! Daniel is sleeping through the night and I could not be happier. He is almost 4 months now and started sleeping 8 hrs at night when he was 9 weeks old. I love this stage that he is at now. KaeLynn is such a good sister. She loves to talk to him and rock him in his car seat. This Christmas was great. We did so many things with Cavan's family especially since his sister Michelle and her family moved to Kentucky the day after Christmas. We had a Christmas with my sister Kea at our house. She brought over her new puppy St. Benard! So Cute! My brother Brandon got me Zumba work out which I am in love with! Cavan got a shirt that really "fits" him well! Then for Cavan's and my 6th year anniversary he took me to see the horse show Cavalia. He actually surprised me which he has never done before! It was so beautiful! Then for my birthday he got me a Wii with a Zumba game! I have been in Zumba heaven! I finally get to have dance back in my life. He also got a shooting game (of course :) that is also fun. Then on Christmas Eve we drove to the Coast to see my family and had a good visit with them. Christmas day Cavan's brother blessed their new daughter Coralei. She was so adorable in her dress! KaeLynn got a ton of presents. She really enjoyed that every place we went there were more presents to open. Then the day after Christmas we went to Zoo Lights. It was cold and Daniel did not enjoy it most of the time, but we made the best of it. When we got on the train our whole cart was singing Christmas Carols! It was so much fun! Then for New Years Eve we went to our friends the Freys. Ate yummy food, played Zumba, and soaked in the hot tub. We actually stayed up until midnight, even the kids! Then all of the sudden today for church my little girl grew up and is now a Sunbeam! I can not believe she is old enough to go to Primary. This year has been such a good year for us. We have really grown and I look forward to what this new year has to bring us. Well I think that pretty much sums it up! :)
