We went hiking with Roy'l's family at Multnomah Falls. Of course we didn't hike very high with the young kids, but it was still so beautiful to be there. The kids seemed to have the most fun eating ice cream and playing in the creek at the bottom. Roy'l and I went under the train bridge while a train was crossing and it was so exciting and scary! I have never experience something like that before.

Going to the Carnival
Cavan was out of town for work, so I decided to take the kids to the coast to go visit my family. We had an amazing visit! I first took the kids to the beach. It was very windy and cold so we didn't stay very long, but it's always nice to go to the beach even if its for a short while. We then went to go visit my sweet adorable Grandma Dorothy. She took us out to lunch, then we headed back to her house where she showed me photos of our family. She told me all sorts of stories and I learned so many things about my family I didn't know. I just love learning about my heritage and where I came from. I will always cherish that afternoon with her. The next day we went to the carnival where my amazing talented little sister Abby was in the fair showing her pig and her horse. She won Grand Champion for her pig and she also won for her horse. Not even to mention all the other awards she won! I am so proud of her. The kids had a blast at the carnival. They got to see a lot of animals, eat junk, ride a tractor and go on the ferris wheel. We sure had fun that weekend!
Splash pad
We went to a splash pad in Vancouver that we never have been before. It was called Esther Short Park. We went with Roy'l when she was still in town. My good friend Devanie and her adorable children came too. We had a real fun afternoon!

Rockaway Beach
The weather was so pretty for the beach. Daniel is the happiest when he can just sit and dig. When his uncles and dad started to dig and build in the sand, Daniel was right there with him. This year KaeLynn seemed to enjoy flying the kite the most. She also loves the water too. She doesn't care if its cold or not. Daniel loves water too, but if he has the choice to swim or dig, he always chooses to dig. We then drove to Camp 18 for dinner. It's a really cool restaurant/ logging museum. They had this huge table that sat all of us just perfectly.

Swimming, and the Beach Trip
So the rest of the week we were supposed to go to the lake, but we didn't want to go camping in the rain. One day we took the kids to an indoor gym called the Kids Club in Washington. They have a ton of really cool things for the kids to play on. They kids LOVED it! Then another day we took them to the Clackamas Aquatic center. They have a wave pool, diving board, and really fun slides. Then the day we planned to go to the beach it was gorgeous weather. We stopped at Tillamook first for some yummy ice cream then headed to Rockaway Beach.
Omri Joseph Dover
Roy'l just had her 3rd child just 3 weeks ago and still came to visit us all the way from Kentucky. Omri is such a joy to be around. He fills up your heart with so much warmth when you hold him. KaeLynn couldn't get enough of him! I knitted him a nice little blanket that I hope he will grow to love.

Shooting
Cavan's siblings came into town last week and we had many fun outdoor activities planned. Then the weather changed all of that. We still went to a friend of ours property in Oregon city to go shooting, but it wasn't warm enough for the adults to go swimming in the lake. It rained, but the kids didn't care. They still swam and had a ton of fun!
