Pumpkin Patch in Louisville

This pumpkin patch was one like we have never been before. We rode a tractor up to the field. The man waited for everyone for find a pumpkin, and then he drove us back. They also had a fun corn maze. We actually did way better in the family maze. The kid maze we kept getting lost! LOL

Nauvoo

Another stop was at Nauvoo. Next time I will plan more time to explore. I would like at least 2 days. Nauvoo is where the saints of the church built a city after they were driven out of Missouri from mobs. they built the Nauvoo temple, and a wonderful city. After 6 years they were then forced to travel to the rocky Mountains, once again looking to escape the anti-mormons. we rode a carriage ride around the city. It was such a windy day, but the fall colors were beautiful. We then drove to Carthage jail to see where Joesph Smith was killed while waiting for his trial. We got to go in the very room and see the window he was shot out of. They also had the original door that a bullet came through and killed Hyrum Smith his brother. We really enjoyed bringing our children and showing them the history of our church and all that was sacrificed for us.

Omaha Zoo

While In Nebraska we went to the Zoo. This Zoo was huge! We couldn't see everything they had to over because we needed to get back on the road, but the things we saw were still really fun to see. They had a enclosed dome that was like a dessert. Some of the animals they had weren't even in cages like the meerkats. They also had an aquarium with sharks! Daniel liked that exhibit the best. The monkey exhibit had these bubble like windows that you could look at the monkeys. O
ne monkey was sitting on top of it while we were in there, and I put my hands up to the monkey hands to show the kids how similar our hands are. All of the sudden the monkey started pounding his hands against the window and sent me running out of there screaming like a little girl! Cavan thought that was really funny.

Cheyenne

Our first stop after leaving Utah we stayed in Cheyenne for the night. We found this Botanic Garden and Children's Village to visit that was free. The weather was so perfect there. The drive through Wyoming was very boring until right before Cheyenne, and then it turned very beautiful! The garden had cute little things for the kids to do.  It was a nice little break.

Paradise Utah

On our way out of Utah to head to Kentucky, we stopped to visit our friend's the Pickups who recently moved to Paradise Utah. I was amazed at how beautiful this valley was. It truly was a peaceful community. For Family Home Evening, we went to a Harvest Festival. This family that puts it on charges no cost for families to come out and take a tractor ride and look at all the Halloween lights they put up around their farm. They also have fires going where you could roast hot dogs. We also roasted apples over the fire, and they were delicious!

Museum Of Natural Curiosity

This Museum was the best we have gone so far at Thanksgiving Point in Utah. There were so many fun exhibits for the kids. They had a zip line, and a beautiful nature walk outside. There were all these koi fish you could feed. There were sand pits, caves with tunnels, and a lot of fun equipment to climb and play on. Then inside the was endless amounts of activities to do. In the future we would need more than a day to play here. There is to much to do! We then finished our night eating at a Brazilian Steakhouse and it was delicious! We even tried rattlesnake tonight.
