Christmas 2012

Yeah, the World did not come to an end! We made it to Christmas! We went to the coast Christmas Eve and stayed with my dad. We had a great dinner of Pizza and enjoyed family's company. The next morning we woke up to no power! So we snuggled up in blankets and read books until it was light enough for the kids to open presents. The power came back on just has we were getting ready to leave. Then we drove straight to Nana and Papa's house to have Christmas with them. We had a great breakfast, open presents, watch movies, and just enjoyed the day. We then had a delicious Christmas dinner. The kids did great with the traveling. The day after Christmas I felt completely wiped out! Now it is time for the New Year!

The couch is a wonderful place

I think these pictures speak for themselves. We love snuggling on the couch!

A little Snow

The other morning we woke up to snow! It finally started to stick, so Cavan took the kids out in it for a few minutes. It didn't stay long, but it was a nice surprise.

Too quick for a photo

I tried so hard to get this boy to stand in front of the Christmas tree to get a picture of him in his adorable suit. As you can see he would not cooperate very well. At least you get the idea. :)

KaeLynn's first ballet recital

KaeLynn was so adorable in her recital! She danced to the song Silent Night. She was nervous to go at first and told me she didn't want to dance, but when I told her that it was my birthday and I want her to dance for my present. She agreed and did such a great job! I thought the whole recital would be no longer than an hour long, but it lasted two hours! I also volunteered to sit with her class. When I agreed to this I had no idea that it was this long, and her class was second to last to perform. It was such a struggle keeping eleven 3-4 year olds quite for such a long time. But it was very worth it. We had such a great time dressing her up and getting ready to perform. I am glad she had so much fun!

Nutcracker with KaeLynn

We went to see the Nutcracker put on by the Oregon Ballet Theater with Cavan's family. Papa got tickets through his work to watch their dress rehearsal. I thought this would be good for KaeLynn to see dancers perform on a stage before she had her recital. She thought it was very pretty, but it was a little to long for her. All the older grand kids came too.

Syblings

When my two angels take a second to actually love each other my heart jumps for JOY! These are the moments that make motherhood amazing!

What KaeLynn likes to do

This girl loves to Dance!! Her first recital is coming up. I am so excited for her, and HOPE she does not get shy and will perform. Since she chickened out of her part at the primary program I am a little worried. She is such a joy to watch. She is also very interested in the piano. Today she was playing around on the keys and I could hear her actually trying to play "Jingle Bells". When I asked he what song she was trying to play she said jingle bells. I could actually hear some of the song! This is my 4 year old doing this! This girl is so gifted!

What Daniel likes to do

My sweet Daniel boy LOVES books! He is always bringing books to us and likes to sit down and have you read to him. It is so sweet, I love it! He loves pictures of animals the most, especially dogs. He is very confident in saying "doggy!" and "woof" when he sees one. He also says "moo" when he sees a picture of a cow, and "quack" with a duck. He will say things that totally surprise me and are out of no where, and then I will never hear him say it again. He also loves to feed himself with a spoon! This is so great because I am still having a hard time getting KaeLynn to feed herself. He really watches us and tries to do what we are doing. It is so adorable to see him fold his arms when we pray as a family. He is 25lbs now and is sitting in a forward facing car seat. He is growing like cray and changes so fast!

Astoria Nutcracker

Today was such a special day. I drove to Astoria by myself to go the Nutcracker with my Grandma. I have such fond memories doing this with her. When I was younger, I danced in the Nutcracker for 3 years at the Astoria High School. My Grandma took me to all my practices and was always there supporting me. I really wanted to share this day with her. We went out to lunch first at the Pig N Pancake (another fond memory) and then met up with the rest of my family at the coast to watch the Ballet. It was so neat to see my old Ballet Theater putting on a performance. My dance teacher is still teaching there! Good old small town! We had a great time.

Turkey Trot

November fun run was the Turkey Trot. A nice 4 mile run before we ate our huge yummy Thanksgiving dinner! Now Roy'l and I have never run this far before. We have only ran for 3 miles at the most. We also had to go up hill, A LOT! I won't lie, this run was hard. But when we were done my endorphins kicked in and I felt AMAZING! The run was at the ZOO. I really do enjoy getting together with a large group and running. I am so thankful for Roy'l to go a long with me. There is not a December Fun Run that I am available for so my next one will have to be in January.
