Christmas 2008

Well this Christmas was absolutely beautiful! We had so much snow! To bad I was sick... I have never felt so sick in such a long time! Christmas eve we didn't do anything. I felt horrible and just wanted to lay inside. Cavan did a good deed though. This poor Fed Ex guy was being a good man delivering someone a package on Christmas eve but our neighborhood was just covered in very deep snow. Most vehicle's had problems driving through and the Fed Ex guy got stuck! He tried and tried but couldn't get out, so Cavan came to the rescue with our jeep and pulled him out.

It was the only excitement I got out of the day. Then Christmas morning we went over to Cavan's parents and opened gifts after we ate a delicious brunch. Then Christmas night, we went over to my mom and Harold's house and had an awesome Christmas cookie get together (thanks to Nanny) We ate, socialized, and played games it was really fun.

We still haven't had a chance to go to Astoria for Christmas but we will soon and I can't wait!

Change of plans due to our "Artic Blast"

So the plan for Christmas this year was to go to Astoria this weekend so we could have more time to spend with my family but the weather has not been cooperating. It seems that it would to dangerous to drive to the coast especially now that the news is saying another snow/ice storm will happen this weekend. We will pan to go maybe the weekend after Christmas. Although we are disappointed not to be going to the coast this weekend, we still are loving the snow. It is so much fun. Today Cavan pulled KaeLynn and I around the neighborhood with a sled. We tried to tie Lexy up to it and have her pull us around, but she was not having it! It is so beautiful here. It really brings the Christmas spirit even more with everything covered in white.

Brrr... It's COLD!!

It finally feels like it is winter! It couldn't be more beautiful outside with the snow and all the Christmas lights! I LOVE IT!! This last weekend we went to Lake Merwin with our friends Nicole and Chris. It snowed so much! We had so much fun. We built a snow slide and went down it on an inner tube. Then we built a jump and decided that it would be a good idea to jump over Cavan. We had a few casualties but nothing serious.

Lexy had a blast in the snow. When she first jumped in it, the snow went up to her chest, and then she was prancing around the snow like a little deer. It was quite cute.

She was very sad to leave.

Baby Carson is born!

My sister Amanda finally had her baby! After going through two false labors, Carson finally decided that he was ready to join us. He is so cute and looks just like her other son Triston. His name is Carson Joshua Miller. He is 6lbs 13oz and 2o inches long. It is going to be so fun having a little baby around that is so close to KaeLynn's age. They are going to have a blast together!

The best house on the block!

Cavan may not be a big fan about Christmas but he sure loves Christmas lights! Our house looks AWSOME! Cavan has even offer to help our neighbors put up their lights. It is so fun to get in the Christmas spirit! This year we plan on doing Christmas a little different.... We are going to go down to Astoria a little earlier this year instead of on Christmas Eve. This was my family can spend more time with KaeLynn and we won't have to rush back. Now with gas being so cheap ($1.77) it is a little more afforable to drive there. (Thank goodness!)

Christmas Season is finally here!

Today was a good day! This morning we went over to my mom's house and helped decorate their tree. We listen to Christmas music and drank yummy hot coco while the boys watched football. After we we finished we came back to our house and my brother Brandon helped Cavan put our Christmas lights on the house and it looks great! While the boys put lights on the house my mom, Harold and I watched my favorite Christmas movie, The Santa Clause. Now we just need to buy our Christmas tree and then all our decorations will be complete. This is my absolute most favorite time of the year. I just wish every day could have Christmas joy like it did today.

Last night Cavan and I actually had a date! We got to go out to eat at Red Robin with Cavan's brother Casey and his wife Roy'l. After we ate we went and watched the movie Twilight. I really like it. Of course I loved the book better but the movie was still good. It was so much fun to go out on a date. It was very refeshing to be with each other. We need to make sure to keep it up every once in a while.

....Today is Thanksgiving! It was Cavan's family's turn to have us for Thanksgiving and we had a really good time. We decided to have it at our house and it was a lot of fun to have so many people over. Roy'l actually let Papa feed Javen pumpkin pie for the first time and when Javen was put down for a nap in KaeLynn's crib he puked all over himself. Yum... Pumpkin puke! LOL I guess his 6 month old system just couldn't handle it.... Maybe next year! I am so grateful for all my blessings. We have been blessed with such a wonderful baby. She just grows more fascinating every day! I am so thankful for Cavan and the love that he has for KaeLynn and me. I am also so thankful for the church and how it has changed my life for the better. I now know what true happiness is. I am so glad that we have this day to look at what we have and be thankful for it. Every time things get really hard I just need to remember that it could always be worse and to just have faith and we will be okay. Now that thanksgiving is coming to an end I can officially start the Christmas season and Cavan can't stop me!! HA HA!!

KaeLynn's Blessing

This last Sunday on November 23rd 2008 KaeLynn was blessed in church by her father. It was the most amazing day ever! The spirit was so so strong has Cavan held KaeLynn surrounded by his father, brothers and close friends. Cavan's blessing was so humble and sweet. I have never felt more love for him as he held our daughter in her beautiful white dress and spoke with the authority that he is worthy to hold. I could never thank Heavenly Father enough for blessing me with such a wonderful family. After the blessing we had family come over and enjoy a meal as we all chatted and soaked in the day. It was a beautiful sunny day and I was so happy that my dad and grandparents could drive up from Astoria to be there. After we ate we had pictures taken of KaeLynn in her dress. Her dress was made out of my wedding dress. I thought how perfect to take the dress that represented something so pure in my life and make a dress for KaeLynn that shows how pure and perfect she is. She looked so amazing in that dress. I want to never forget the feelings I felt that day as I was reminded how Cavan and Kaelynn will be with me for all eternity.

Today Grandma Dorothy and Grandpa Glen drove up from Astoria to see KaeLynn. It was a very nice visit. Aunt Sandra and Uncle Kenny also came over and KaeLynn didn't know what to think of all our visitors. She kept wanting mom... it was adorable. Today I also found out that my sister Amanda has started dialting. She is at 5cm and has been stuck there for a while. The monitor is showing that she is having contractions but she is not feeling them, (thank goodness) so she is stuck there until further notice. She is not due until the end of December so I am praying that everything will be ok with her little Carson.

KaeLynn is smiling now! She also will roll over from her stomach to her back. I can't believe how fast she is changing. Everyday she seems to be developing more of a personality. She is so adorable! Her hair is starting to grow back on the top of her head but now she is losing hair on the back of her head! Someday we hope she will grow hair and not loose it at the same time. Hair or no hair she still is the cutest baby.

Last night was the first night KaeLynn slept through the night. It was amazing!! She is also becomming more alert. She is more aware of things around her and reacts if you bring a toy up to her face or move side to side. She is also getting very close to smiling! Any day now......

Our first Halloween with KaeLynn was fun! Nana got her a matching Halloween outfit with her cousin Javen and they look so cute! Then we went to a Halloween party. We didn't buy candy to hand out for trick or treaters since we planned on being at the Halloween party but we got home early and sure enough we had kids showing up at our door. Earlier that week Cavan bought a bunch of 2 liters of soda because they were on sale. So when the kids came to our door Cavan was handing out 2 liters of soda! It was hillarious! The kids loved it!! Mabye next year we will plan our night better.

On Sat. October 26th we took KaeLynn to Hood River for her first pumkin patch with Cavan's family. It was a beautiful fall day! We went to harvest farms and bought fresh picked apples and pears. We also bought fresh apple butter! YUM!!! KaeLynn got to see Alpacas and they even had baby Alpacas! They were so cute!!! It was a fun day and we can't wait to go back next year!
