Daniel the Firefighter

The other day on our walk we saw a fire truck in our neighborhood. Daniel waved at them and they turned their lights on for him. Then they pulled over and gave Daniel a stuffed Dalmatian dog, a fire hat and a fire coloring book! Daniel was so star struck looking at them. He told me he wants to be a fireman when he grows up. He wants to drive the truck and put the fires out. He says he also wants to be a paleontologist, a garbage man, a plane man, and work man, and a daddy. You can be anything you want to be Daniel!

Hunting Zomies

We got together with some friends for some Halloween fun at a painball arena. We went on a spook walk (which I thought was scary). Then we got to shoot at zombies that were enclosed in an area. Then we went on the "Psycho Hunt". This is when we went into the arena by yourself, in the dark, with only a flashlight on your gun. If you get through killing 4 out of 5 zombies with out getting tagged you win a shirt. I can't believe I made it through! It was so exhilarating! I was so scared and was going on pure adrenaline. It was really fun. I'm glad I did it because I almost chickened out.

Partin Ranch Corn Maze

We were looking for a new fall tradition like we used to do when we would visit Hood River every year and do the fruit loop. A friend in our ward told us about this ranch about an hour and 20 mins away. They had a lot of cool stuff and a huge corn maze! We went on a hay ride, the kids went on a barrel train ride, a zip line, and a bunch of other fun activities for the kids.We didn't go through the whole maze because we had to be back to our place at a certain time, but I'm kinda glad to not have gotten lost with the kids in there. KaeLynn loved the zip line! Daniel wasn't ready for it. He loved to play in the corn box and in the sand with their trucks.

Take your daddy to school day

This year our school had a "Take Daddy to School Day". This is when dads came to school first thing in the morning. They got to have donunts and juice with their kids. Then they took a questionnaire about their kids to see how well they knew them. KaeLynn always changes what she is into at the time, so it was cute to see her answers different from Cavan's. KaeLynn was so happy to have her daddy there. We are grateful for Cavan's career, and that he can be flexible with his schedule and be there for these fun events.

Kids Birthday Party

KaeLynn turned 7 and Daniel turned 4! We rented a bouncy house with a water slide and invited some friends over. KaeLynn and Daniel had some time to play on it before their friends arrived and Daniel was having the time of his life! But when all the kids came, he was so upset that all these kids got in his way! He really struggled the rest of the party. Besides that the kids had a blast!

1st Day of First Grade!

South Carolina

We went to Isle of Palms in South Carolina in August with some business partners of Cavan's in Carmedic. We rented a beach house walking distance to the beach with 10 families. It was a full house, but we each had our own rooms so it went a lot better than I thought it would. We had so much fun!!!! It was so relaxing with such great company. We went on a water taxi and got to see downtown Charleston. One night we all went to the beach when it got dark to catch ghost crabs. It was one of the most fun activities we did all summer. The kids thought it was the coolest thing ever. Then we all got in a circle and let the crabs go in the middle of us and they crawled all over our feet. Daniel wanted no part in that! We look forward to another trip next summer.

High School 10 year reunion

One of the things I did while visiting in Oregon was go to my 10 year High School Reunion. It was nice to see old friends again. Especially my best friend Angela!

Oregon

The kids and I spent a large part of our summer in Oregon. We had a lot of visiting to do and since the weather is so amazing in Oregon in the summer we stayed for almost 5 weeks! Cavan joined us our last 10 days there. It was so nice to go home for a visit. We had endless things we wanted to do and people we wanted to visit. We missed Cavan greatly though and it was a long time to be away from our new home here in Florida.
