The Trolley

This last weekend we went to the Coast to visit Grandpa Brad. We had a special treat to have Auntie Kea be there too! She was there sadly for her grandma's funeral. We so very happy to spend time with her though. We met up with Brandon and took the kids to the trolley. The trolley is over 100 years old, and we learned a lot of fun facts about or home town Astoria. At the end the kids even got to toot the horn.

Happy Easter!

Today was such an amazing Easter! The children were wonderful in church and throughout the day. The weather was perfect spring weather. We got to spend time together as a family, then head over to Nana and Papas for a yummy Easter dinner and an egg hunt. This year Nana helped me make skirts for KaeLynn and I to match. Then Daniel and daddy had matching ties to go along with our skirts. It is so fun to match, I love it!

Easter Eggs

This week for our Family Home Evening Activity we died Easter Eggs. The kids loved this! Daniel did an excellent job moving the died eggs to the carton. We were very impressed.

Powell Butte

Cavan and I are trying to do more things together that we both enjoy. We are still trying to figure out the racquetball game, so until we get the hang of it we went on a simple hike. We have been blessed with beautiful spring weather this year, so we want to take advantage of it. I LOVE the outdoors, especially when I get to enjoy it with my sweetheart.

Hiking with my little man

Last Monday was an absolute beautiful day! When KaeLynn was at school, Daniel and I went hiking with some of my girlfriends at the Eagle Creek Trail in the Columbia Gorge. Daniel was such a happy kid riding in the pack on my back. Every thing he saw made him happy. The rocks, the logs, the water. He was just taking it all in with such joy! I couldn't do the whole hike because I had to get back in time to pick up KaeLynn from school. I was relieved though because Daniel was so heavy and killing my back! He was such a good boy, and the views were amazing so it was all worth it.

Another tooth gone!

This weekend we had General Conference for our church. We had a weekend full of inspirational talks from our prophet and apostles. I had planned a lot of activities to keep the kids happy and busy during the long hours of listening. One of these activities was play dough. KaeLynn was trying to help Daniel open the play dough container with her mouth, when out popped her second tooth! She was very shocked! This last week she also had her first dental appointment to fill half of her cavities. She was an absolute angel! She laid there so patiently with out any fuss. She even did well for the injection. I was very surprised. Now she knows what to expect, so we will see how she does for her second appointment to fill the rest of her cavities.

My kids snuggling!

This never happens! My children actually laying next to each other, and not fighting. I just had to document this moment.

Tyron Creek State Park

The first day of Spring Break was going to be the only nice day of the week, so took advantage of our day off and went outdoors! We originally planned to spend the day at the zoo, but so did everyone else in Portland and it was to full. Since we were not far from Tyron Creek State Park, we went there instead. We were very happy with this destination instead! The kids loved playing in the forest. They also had a really neat nature center with a lot of activities for the kids to do. We had a picnic outside, and really enjoyed the warm weather. We even had a special treat to see Cavan. He was working in that area and finished early and was able to join us!
