We processed our first meat chickens!

We raised our own meat birds for the first time and processed the ourselves. Our good friend David helped teach us. The kids were a little curious but didn't stick around. We killed 16 chickens and filled our freezer.

Jaxon loves Oakley and Oakley is so good with him. He takes all sorts of abuse from the baby, but he just lays there.

Whats been going on...

A lot has been going on. The economy is starting to open up again. The dealerships are letting Vendors back in to work so that is good for Cavan's business. Most restaurants you can go inside and eat again. Beaches are open but they pretty much don't let anyone else on after 10 so it doesn't get to crowded. Same with State parks. They are only letting it be about 50% capacity. Disney World and other amusement parks are not open. Some places are requiring you to wear masks to go in their stores. I have to wear a mask when I go to physical therapy from that car crash back in June. They have a table outside the office where they take my temperature and ask me questions about my health and if I have been around anyone with COVID-19. If I pass their "inspection" and I wear a mask I can go into my appointment.

We bought more chicks to have laying hens out in the pasture. They really help keep the bugs down.

Cavan finished all the new fencing for our goats and cows. Our two does are so much more comfortable now and seem to really enjoy their new home. We are making a lot of progress gaining their trust. They were so afraid of people when we first brought them home, but now will eat treats out of our hands. If we are really careful we can even pet them while they eat a treat. We banded our boy goat Paco because Bucks are so smelly and disgusting. We love Paco so much. He loves to snuggle and play with us. So we banded him to keep him a nice pet instead of our breeder. We bought another goat Chester to be our breeder. He was exactly what I feared having a buck on the property would be , and he was gross!!! So we gave him to the family we bought Paco from, and they will let us use him to breed once a year.

We bought two steers. Actually we bought one, and our friends bought the other one. They are totally afraid of us. We have an angus and a charolais (shar-lay).

Daisy and Oakley play with each other until they are completely exhausted. Daisy is getting big so fast. She is as tall as Oakley now, and will pass him up in no time. Daisy is a true outside dog. The Florida rain and thunderstorms are pretty strong, but these types of breeds don't like shelters. Cavan set up a shelter for her in her favorite hole she like to sleep in, but she won't go in it while its rainy. Crazy dog!

Jax is now crawling! He started out army crawling for a while, but now he is crawling on hands and knees when he wants to. If he wants to get some where fast he army crawls super quick. It looks like he is swimming across the floor! He is eating baby food a lot better and usually eats 3 times a day. He is no longer breastfeeding. He would get so distracted and fight me so much on eating. It was hurting my neck and shoulders so bad. My injury from the car crash back in June was really flaring up so I decided to stop fighting it. I pump and supplement with goat milk formula. He has 4 teeth now. He is such a happy little guy and is sleeping great now.

Linden is now in the bedroom with Daniel and out of his crib! He loves sharing a room with Daniel and sleeping on the top bunk. Oakley sleeps in Daniels bed, and goes to bed when Linden does before Daniel gets in there. There have been several times when Daniel goes to get in bed, Linden is there snuggled with Oakley sleeping. Its so sweet, but Daniel hates it! KaeLynn is in the smaller room now with Jax's crib. Jax only sleeps in there for naps. He sleeps in the den at night. When Jax is older then we will have all 3 boys together in one room.

Cavan and I are making sure to keep going on our motorcycle dates. We went to see the ocean after dinner one night and took a short walk on the beach. My favorite!!

KaeLynn graduated elementary school! Since we had to do virtual school to finish out the year, she didn't get an official ceremony they usually do for the 5th graders. They did a "drive thru" graduation. It was sweet and a nice thing for the school to do. I can't believe she will be in middle school!

I'm so busy with the boys all the time, I felt like KaeLynn and I needed a mommy daughter night. The Movie theaters are not open, but we now have a drive thru theater and they were playing the Goonies! We got tons of junk food and watch the movie in our car. It was a fun night.

COVID-19 update

We did get the official quarantine from the governor to stay home expect for essential things. All public restrooms are closed. All beaches are now officially closed. They closed school for the rest of the year and will continue to do virtual learning to finish it out online. (sigh) Daniel is really sad about this. He loves his teacher, and he really hates doing school online. The first 2 weeks were so awful trying to figure out how to do online learning, especially since they keep changing the curriculum. Now that KaeLynn has the hang of it, she would rather finish out the year online anyway. We are supposed to stay 6 feet apart from each other and not be around more than 10 people at at time. Toilet paper is still very limited, and a lot of the stores shelves are empty. Registers have a barrier between them and the customers when they check out. Stores are only aloud so many people in the store. When we went to Costco, we had to wait in line to get in. Once we got to the front they wouldn't let us in at first because we had Jax with us. They were only letting in 2 people per membership. We insisted and they got a manager and they ended up letting us in. Once we were in the store they employees were walking around yelling, "Warning! Stay 6 feet a part!" I hated the feeling and felt like I was not even in America anymore.
