We had a great visit at the coast yesterday. We went to go celebrate my youngest sister Abby's birthday. We also celebrated my grandpa Glenn and Aunt Faedra birthdays too. While we waited for the birthday dinner to begin we went down to the Trolley in hopes to catch a ride. It wasn't running, but we did get to see the sea lions. They were so loud and stinky. The kids really enjoyed that! We then went to check out Grandpa Brads new log truck. The kids thought that was pretty cool. We then headed to Warrenton for the Birthday dinner. After that we met up with my brother Brandon and went to climb the Astor Column. It was so windy up there! KaeLynn climbed every step by herself and never complained once! I was so shocked. I remember being a young girl and was to scared to climb to the top!

Windy
Here we are again at the gravel pit by our house. Lucky for us we live in a windy city, so it s perfect for flying kites. One of the many things I love my about my husband is his love for the simple things in life. For example he loves to decorate for Every holiday with fun lights. But in this case he loves to fly kites. KaeLynn loves it too, and it such a special activity to do with our kids. Daniel was more interested in playing in the gravel, but I'm sure he will enjoy the kite someday.
Nature Walk!
Another fun filled Saturday taking a walk with the kids at Butler Creek. We went with our amazing friends the Hardy's, who happen to live on the same street as us. Our kids seem to enjoy these settings much more when they have other children to enjoy the with. It was a cloudy day and it was sprinkling rain off and on, but the children still highly enjoyed being in the outdoors which makes it enjoyable for us too!
Daniel Boy
I just wanted to document my son being such a typical boy. This gravel hill we play on A Lot! He is so happy to sit here, wet ground or not, and play in the dirt and rocks. He will pick up the rocks and pretend they are little cars and drive them around making car sounds. It's really adorable. And anything with wheels he is drawn to and wants to play with it. He is also into "fixing things". If daddy is in the garage he likes to get into Cavan's tools and "work" on his power wheels.

KaeLynn's First Dentist Appointment
She was an absolute angel for her first dentist appointment. The night before we watch a Peppa Pig short movie clip on going to the dentist. She thought it sounded very fun. When we got there she loved the office. There were movies playing, tons of toys and a huge wall made out of a chalkboard! Daniel really loved that. I was worried for her to do the X-rays since they can be uncomfortable, but she did great! They cleaned her teeth and she still did very well. They also gave her a stuffed lion. If you give this girl a stuffed animal you are sure to win her heart! Then the Doctor told me the news.... She has 8 cavities!!!! How could this be?? Our diet is practically sugar free and we don't drink soda. Well I guess she did not inherit my good genes. Wink wink Dovers ;-) So we have to go back for two more appointments. Lets hope she still loves the dentist after enduring what will come next.

Kids Workshop
On another Saturday looking for something to do, Cavan found a free kids workshop at Home Depot where the kids can make projects. They made a horse piggy bank. Daniel did way better than I thought he would. He really wanted to help build his horse. I guess it shouldn't surprise me since he loves playing with tools so much. KaeLynn really preferred Cavan helping her over me. I kept making mistakes and would have to take it apart and start over. Haha!
On rainy Saturdays...
On Saturdays when there is nothing to do and the weather is really crummy what is a family to do? Go to an indoor gym! We borrowed our adorable niece Leanne and Cavan and I played with the kids like we were young kids again. It was great!
