KaeLynn's habits

KaeLynn is 7 months old and today is the day that I think KaeLynn has picked up this new habit. She as occasionally sucked on a few fingers but nothing consistent until today. She has been more whining than usual and when she found her thumb it really seemed to comfort her. She has sucked it most of the day and keeps going back to it! I think it is adorable and don't mind it at all.

KaeLynn has also picked up the habit of grunting while she eats. I think it is her way of expressing how good it taste. We have tried adding green beans to her diet but she does not grunt, she holds out her tongue full of green beans and gags. I guess that means she doesn't like them.!

Easter Sunday was great! We first went to church which had an awesome sacrament meeting! The spirit was very strong has we were reminded on why we celebrate this holiday. After church we went to Cavan's parents house and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Before the mel we did an Easter egg hunt. The kids went first and then the adults. The adult Easter egg hunt was a little more violent thanks to Cavan LOL! Afterwards we ate and socialized. Then we drove to Vancouver to visit my family and enjoy another great meal! We also had yummy desert and relaxed while we watched a movie. It was a great day to spend with family! KaeLynn got her first Easter egg basket that had some baby puffs, baby books and some change to start her own penny bank.

Let it shine!

This weekend was so beautiful and to add to it General conference was on. (for my family who are not members, General Conference happens twice a year when the prophet, first presidency and other leaders of the church give talks pertaining to our lives and the gospel.) All the talks were so were inspirational and gave me motivation to keep the gospel in my family and raise KaeLynn knowing we love her and that heavenly father loves her too. After conference we decided to get out and enjoy the sun. We took KaeLynn to the park so she could enjoy the baby swing for the first time and did she ever! I love all these precious moments with her. She is also catching on to eating the baby puffs herself. She is so adorable as she tires to pick them up and put them in her mouth. When I put them on her high chair tray she reaches both her little hands out like she is starving, grabs a handful and then brings her fist up to her mouth and sucks on her hands until she sucks one puff out. After a few attempts if she doesn't get any in her mouth she starts crying like she is so frustrated. It is pretty cute. I have noticed that it was easier for her to put the puffs in her mouth with her left hand vs. the right hand. Maybe she will be left handed like her daddy, or maybe not. I guess we will find out in due time. This morning when I went to get KaeLynn up she was sleeping on her stomach! She hates tummy time so I couldn't believe it! She was sound asleep and slept in longer then she usually does. Maybe we have discovered her new favorite position.

KaeLynn is now 6 months and 3 weeks old. She is so much fun! The other night while I was cooking dinner I was trying to keep her entertained at the same time so I was doing what I always do around the house, Dance! She love it as you can see in the video. We are starting to introduce more foods to her diet. We have added baby oatmeal cereal, bananas, and sweet potatoes. I have introduced baby puffs and she is so cute as she tries to eat them. She will pick them up with her little chunky hands, but then she can't figure out how to open her hands to put the puff in her mouth. When I put the puff in her mouth she doesn't seem to like it yet. But we will keep trying. We are also introducing the sippy cup which she has taking very well to. Her face was so cute when she figured out that when you suck on it liquid comes out! She is now 19 lbs and sits up by herself. She really enjoys play time on the floor as long as she is siting up. She still is not taking well to tummy time.
