St. George

We left for St. George for the long 16 hour drive on Monday afternoon. 3 hrs into the drive, KaeLynn is complaining that she is sick. I thought she was feeling car sick from the movie she watched. Then she puked. She has never puked from car sickness before, but there is always a first time for everything. At about the 4th time of puking, I knew she had a stomach bug. She was doing pretty well in between throwing up so we decided to keep on going. Especially because it did not smell. Otherwise we probably would have stayed at a hotel. She puked a total of 12 times! She kept puking all the way up until we pulled into the drive way of my sister's in St. George. When we pulled Daniel out of his car seat we noticed that he also had puked. We had a day to re cooperate and rest from driving through the night. On Wednesday we went to a few Church Historic Sites. We went to the Temple visitor center, Brigham Young's winter house, and Jacob Hamblin house. I love visiting these kinds of places. Then Wednesday night we went to Thriller. A musical performance at the outdoor amphitheater at Touacon. On their website, they advertise that you can pay for child care while you our at the show. You just have to preregister. So an hour before the show I called to do this, when they told me that they are not offering child care for the thriller show! KaeLynn was old enough to go to the show, but we had to scramble to find a sitter for Daniel. Then we had to pay for a ticket when she wouldn't even get a seat. She had to sit on out lap. We tried to fight it, but it was no use. Then we get to the show and there was a big sign saying that this show is not recommended for children under 12! KaeLynn gets scared very easy so I was worried. She did very well, because I don't think she understood some of the performances. Then Thursday, my sister took off a day of work to take us to Zion! I have been looking forward to this since my sister moved to St. George. When Cavan and I woke up we both felt a little off. By the time we got there we were both sick with what the kids had. Body chills and all!!! I was so dissapointed! We did a very short walk at lunch and got out of there! It was so beautiful, but we felt so crummy! We felt much better in the morning when we found out that Cavan left his phone in Zion. So back in the car we went to get his phone. We felt much better, but had no time to explore. We then went to the St. George pumpkin patch. It was totally lame, but the kids did not seem to mind. The weather was gorgeous while we were there, and I plan to go back in a few months. I just can't get enough of St. George!

One Sunday morning....

This last Sunday before church, KaeLynn came running into my room screaming! She put one of the cars where the wheels turn into her hair! It was the Primary Program that morning, so I was thinking she is going to have a horrible hair cut for her first talk! Cavan was able to cut it out without making it noticeable. For the program, I was so excited to hear KaeLynn do her first Program. She had her part all memorized and did all the practices with no problem. When the moment came, she was too scared to go up to the microphone! I was so shocked! She is not a shy girl. She gave a scripture with no problem in primary, and dances on the spot in front of people all the time. I was very sad that she didn't go. Maybe next year!

Zombie Run!

This month my fun run was a Zombie chase! It was basically a big game of grown up tag. It was in Downtown Portland at night. Two bad combinations for me, but it added to the creepiness making it more exciting! There were Zombies throughout the city waiting for you, and then some were released 5 minutes after we took off. Once you were tagged then you had to take your glow collar off to show everyone that you are now a Zombie, and you go after other runners. There are 3 check points you have to check in at. We almost made it to the 2nd check point, when Roy'l stopped and asked a girl which way we were supposed to go. Well it turns out we didn't notice her color and she was a Zombie! This was so much fun! I would love to do it again next year!

Our Preschool Girl

KaeLynn started preschool last month. She really enjoys it! She goes to her dance school for preschool twice a week for 3 hours each time. It is nice that she goes to school with some of the same girls in her dance class. I like that she has this socialization, and nice that I have a break!

Daniel Update

Daniel is changing everyday! I never updated his stats after his 1st birthday. He is starting to talk a lot! His first word was Hi! He said that in July. Then it was Uh- Oh and Mum. Now he mimics a lot of words you say like a parrot. He has said dad, love you, bye, blanky, nana, papa, and apple is his favorite right now. If you are trying to get him to say a word he does not know, he will just say apple! He was weaned off the bottle this month. He is still taking two naps a day and still sleeps about 12 hours a night. He is now walking. He had taken a few steps here and there, but really started walking the weekend we went to hood river on the 13th. He weighs 24lbs. I have not taken him to his wellness check up yet, so I do not know how long he is. He really enjoys life more that he is walking. He loves to be outside and is such a boy! I know that sounds funny, but it amazes me everyday to see how different KaeLynn was compared to him. He loves his blanky and his thumb just like his sister. He never sleeps unless it is nap time in a crib. He is to active and alert to sleep if we are any where else.  He does not spit up at all anymore (very rare if he does), but is still on a no dairy diet. He still on goats milk. I have found that he is also Gluten Free along with KaeLynn and I. He is a very good eater. He goes back and forth between like being fed and wanting to feed himself. It is so cute because he really tries to use a spoon. He will dip it in his food and bring it to his mouth. He has 9 teeth. He still is in the worst mood when he is cutting teeth! He still holds the name "The Grumpy Old Troll" although he is better than he was. He also has the nick name "Mista Mista". We love this little man so much! KaeLynn is still trying to learn her boundaries with him, and one day I think she is going to get it! He loves to follow her around and he likes to upset her just as much and she likes to upset him. It is adorable to see them try to figure out how to play with each other.

Hood River

This year when we went to Hood River the weather was not it's gorgeous weather we are used to. We almost did not go because the chance of rain. We also were going on a weekend that the festivals were not going on because we will be going to Utah this next week. I am glad we still went. KaeLynn has been talking about the pumpkin patch for weeks! I am surprised she remembered it so well. In the Corn maze they have a story you follow. She remembered the sorry from last year and was anxious to go again. It only rained a little, and we still had fun!

What Happened?

Those were the words I said when I saw Daniel had snuck his way back into the bathtub tonight! I just took him out, got him all ready for bed, and he went straight back into the bathroom and right into the tub without hesitation. It all happened so fast! That little stinker! This is how much he LOVES the water!

Halloween Crafts

I love that KaeLynn is at a age where she wants to do more activities with me. We have really got in the Halloween spirit this year. We made bats, ghosts, and a Dracula. We even made a Halloween chain to help her count down her days until Halloween. Everyday she asks if it is Halloween yet. Poor thing!

Color Run

I made a goal that I will do a fun run once a month Starting in September. So my September run was a color run. Every so often has you ran they would throw a color at you. When I got to the color yellow I totally got shot in the eye! Oh yeah it hurt, but it stop stinging eventually. There was SO many people. About 15,000! I guess it is one of the most popular fun runs in the country. They do them all over the US. It turned out to be totally fun, and really a relaxed race. All about fun, and not competition. This worked out great for me because I was battling a cold and was not feeling a 100%. My team was so awesome! I really enjoy training for these fun events because it keeps my motivated to keep working out! My next one is a Zombie run!

Bubbles!

My kids love bubbles! KaeLynn is so squealy and runs around like crazy when the bubbles get turned on. Daniel sits up has high has be can and flaps his arms up and down while saying "AAAAAAAA"  I think that means he likes it too! we got a really cool bubble machine for the kids birthday party. It was such a nice afternoon today. I love the fall, especially when we can enjoy being outside with our kids.

Sneaky Little Boy

This boy really likes food. He has shown an interest in food that we never experienced with KaeLynn. We often find him with some kind of food he has found, and starts chowing down! The last
picture is just because he is cute!

Our Dancing Girl and Preschool

KaeLynn is now doing Dance class! She goes once a week for an hour. Her class is a combination of ballet, tap, and tumbling. I really like how they do a little of everything because it keeps her interest during the class, and it will help her decide what she wants to do as she gets older. She really has such a natural talent for dancing. The other day in class as I was watching, KaeLynn walked over to the mat all by herself and sat down. No body else was moving and it is hard to hear through the glass. I thought to myself that she went and got her self a time out right there in dance class, but no! The teacher asked everyone to go sit on the mat, and she was the only one listening! My sweet girl! Why can't she listen that well to me? LOL He addition to her dance class, they also offer a preschool called Rising Stars Preschool. She has been doing this for a month now, and she really loves it. I was worried about sending her off to a place I wasn't familiar with so I stayed and watched the first week. KaeLynn really enjoyed the class, so I signed her up! She does that twice a week.  A few Saturdays ago I had a fun run I went to while KaeLynn was supposed to be in the local Gresham Teddy Bear Parade. I was really disappointed to miss this. They didn't tell me the Dance class was in the parade until the Wednesday before, and I had been signed up for this race for a month. When Cavan took her to the parade all dressed up and ready to go, she refused to go with the other little dancers! So I guess I didn't miss out on much. Javen was also in the parade with his preschool so it was officially a family event!
